Quality and Warehouse Manager

Kampala, Uganda

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality and Warehouse Manager at JOB Distributors Limited in Kampala. The Manager will oversee stock control, inventory control, operations management and inventory management on a daily basis. 

S/he will also be responsible for championing the implementation of ISO ISO (9001, 22000) Integrated Management Systems (IMS) across the business. Support the internal and external Auditors, enforces compliance to set policies and procedures to ensure the set objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities for Quality Management

  • Ensure that the Integrated Management System is established, implemented, maintained and updated.
  • Undertake internal and process audits, championing programs for the implementation and sustainment of a delivery process improvement culture.
  • Coordinating external audit and ensuring timely close out and follow up of audit findings.
  • Ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members and all departments in regards to any new contractual obligations, adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Report to the organization’s top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the Quality & Food safety management system
  • Liaise with external parties on matters relating to Quality & Food safety
  • Ensure that top management commitment is visible: Food safety team roles and responsibilities of team members
  • Ensure that the PRP’s are established, implemented, maintained and continually improved
  • Documenting and investigating of customer complaints
  • Verification and maintenance of Warehouse management documentation in relations to ISO 22000.
  • Responds to customer feedback, monitoring customer satisfaction through the NPS and driving initiatives and solutions within the team to address issues raised.
  • Ensuring products are handled with adherence to legal & safety standards and proper waste management.
  • Review existing and determine, agree and develop in-house quality service processes, procedures, standards and specifications; ensuring effective information flow and improvement of the delivery timelines.
  • Able to quickly identify gaps, risks and opportunities, identify plausible solutions, implement change process and implement new functionality based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities for Warehouse Management

  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution of consignment/stock and maintenance operations
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedure
  • Implement and maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security

Qualification

  1. 1. Bachelor's degree in Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  2. 2. Certification in Quality Management systems, preferably ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018
  3. 3. Minimum of 3 years experience in Warehouse Management and or Quality Management

Key Skills

  • 1. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, 22000:2018 is a must
  • 2. Policy & Procedure development
  • 3. Stock Control, Inventory Control, and Inventory Management skills
  • 4. Operations Management proficiency
  • 5. Excellent Technology and Digital Skills (MS Office Suite, ERP(Odoo) and SFA systems)
  • 6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • 7. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • 8. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
